5 Favorite Things to Do in Atlanta

My name is Anna, and I run the lifestyle blog In Honor of Design. I am thankful to Aileen for having me and thought it would be fun to share a few favorite things to do from my city of Atlanta. Trust me, its worth a visit ;) Each year we are here in Atlanta, we try to make it a point to explore a new place. We live in the big and beautiful city ,but its so easy to get comfortable with your 5 mile radius (especially when you have little ones). Here are a few of the favorite places our city has to offer…

5 favorite things to do in Atlanta

Farmer's markets in Atlanta

What to do in Atlanta

Farmers Markets
These are held in many counties throughout Atlanta. Many of the local farmers bring out their best produce and meats every weekend of the summer and into fall. They are super friendly, just as you would imagine in the south, and there are some wonderful dips and desserts to sample.

Art festivals in Atlanta

Popcorn

Art Festivals
There are some really cool festivals that occur almost every other weekend in Atlanta. One of our favorites is the Piedmont Park arts festival where many local artists set up tents and booths, live music plays, and food carts are in surplus:) We struggled to pick a popcorn flavor. So many great options...

Things to do in Atlanta
Cumming Rodeo
If you ever get the chance, this is something that makes memories. (Maybe good and bad;)) We had such a blast watching some of the best bull riders and wild horse riders in the country at the annual rodeo that comes to Cumming, GA. It hurts your stomach to watch at times, but the atmosphere, the entertainment, and the culture that comes with a rodeo ticket is something you won’t ever forget.
Julianna's Crepes
Julianna's Crepes
A favorite discovery to date. It looks like its out of a movie and the crepes are to die for! (Can you tell I like food yet??) There is quaint seating indoors and outside and you can even watch them make the giant crepes in front of you! Definitely a must visit.

Roswell Provisions Wall

Roswell Provisions

Roswell Provisions
This is hands down our favorite locally owned coffee shop. There is character in every corner...not to mention creme of the crop coffee. French accents and french decor make it feel like you stepped into a different city:)

What is your favorite spot to hit up in your city? I would love to hear!
Thank you so much Aileen for having me!

DIY Pie Letters

Hi friends! Lexy from The Proper Pinwheel here! So happy I was able to brainwash Aileen into letting me hang out here for a day and share an easy little project with you! I’m a huge fan of pie. In any form. Now that Autumn is upon us, it’s perfectly acceptable to devour pie every day until Christmas. The weather is a little more chilly and crisp. When you have friends over, give them something that keeps them warmed and entertained. These pie letters are just the ticket and are perfect if you are having a pumpkin carving party!

DIY pie letters

Supplies/Ingredients:

·         1 Pillsbury Pie Crust
·         Butter Knife
·         Egg Wash
·         Cinnamon & Sugar Mixture

Cute! Spell things out with pie crust

Let your pie crust come to room temperature. Using your butter knife, cut long, thin strips from the crust. Roll and twist the strips to form letters. You can twist them in cursive if you choose. Brush the letters with a little egg wash to help seal the places where the pie crust crosses. Sprinkle with a little cinnamon & sugar and bake at 450 degrees Fahrenheit for 6 minutes.

DIY pie letters for a fall party

Serve with hot apple cider and enjoy! Make a bunch of letters to let people create their own words, or choose the words for them! Either way, they’ll get eaten!

Spell words out with pie crust

DIY pie crust letters -- fun!

A Bright and Airy Scandinavian Home

Hello At Home In Love readers! This is Eleni from My Paradissi and I'm more than happy to fill for sweetest Aileen as she's enjoying her adventurous road trip in the US. I'd like to share with you a casual and fresh living room that I was completely hooked with right from the first moment I saw it. It is the space of blogger Marcela Recondo, an argentinian who dwells in Norway. The style of the room is typically scandinavian and that mean bright, airy, with black and white elements to complement the neutrals shades, curvy furniture forms and lots of textures for depth and visual interest.

Beautiful Scandinavian living room

It is something  more than a typical scandinavian space to be exact. This room vibrates coziness, it feels so effortless and lived that I can easily relate to and dream as my own. I guess it is the argentinian temperament of the owner that downgrades the cool, often stark, northern attitude into a more welcoming result that lacks by no way of style and character.

Bright & airy Scandinavian home

I've done a little shopping search for you, just in case you were inspired by this scandinavian living room as much as I did. I'm in love with the rattan chair, where I'd probably stack tons of pillows on, like this cutie moody owl, and the impressive 'designer' zig-zag floor lamp. Which ones would you pick for your place?

Shop this collection: 1.Lup candle holder by Hay (&klevering, €22), 2.Knit throw (Zara Home, $99.90), 3.Signal zig-zag floor lamp by Jielde (Horne, $595), 4.Rattan armchair by Bloomingville (decoratualma, €226.51), 5.Tablo table (Normann Copenhagen, €390), 6.Alseda stool (IKEA, $29.99), 7.Stockholm cushion (IKEA, $12.99), 8.Kahler Omaggio Vase by Ditte Reckweg & Jelena Schou Nordentoft (Story North, £43.20), 9.Owl pillow by Fauna (Design Public, $104)

Lovely

You can find me blogging daily at My Paradissi and wandering around the web world, on facebook, twitter, pinterest and instagram. Come and say hi!

Thanks for having me over, Aileen. Images via Penelope Home.

Wishlist for a New Home

Hi At Home In Love readers. I'm Chandra from Oh Lovely Day and I'm excited to be guest posting for Aileen today. I'm in the middle of a big move from a smaller apartment in Los Angeles to a new bigger and better place that is the perfect canvas just waiting to be styled and decorated. I thought today I'd share the things topping my wishlist for my new space.

oh lovely day home must haves

I'm planning on using a keeping a neutral palette in shades of cream and grey, throwing in some brass and gold accents, and adding pops of color. And with the added space, my son Charlie definitely needs a reading teepee! I'm mixing some of my vintage collections (think mason jars and vintage china) with more modern pieces and unique etsy finds. Seeing all the things I plan to decorate with is what gets me through all of the packing!

{shopping guide} brass table from target (I have two!) / faux sheepskin (they also have a real one, but for under $10 you can't beat this faux one!) from ikea / ombré curtains from target (I have the blue ones in my living space and am using the grey in our bedroom) / teepee from land of nod / grey herringbone blanket from target / modern rocker from amazon (under $100!) / vintage cart from world market (although I may go with this brass one from target) / painted antler from madebycassandrasmith / california string art from ramble & roost / gold zebra head trophy from WhiteFauxTaxidermy

I have an entire pinterest board for my new home inspiration. And At Home In Love is definitely a source of ideas as well! Thanks so much to Aileen for having me.
