I love design classics as much as the next girl, but I usually don't have the budget for the real thing (okay, I never have the budget for the real thing). So I’m perfectly fine with pieces that are inspired by the classics. If it looks close enough, it works for me! That’s why I was excited to find David Philips Furniture. They have affordable versions of so many of my faves! Here are just a few.
1. Eames-inspired lounger - £765.00 / 2. Eiffel DAW chair (in several fun colors!) - £119.00 / 3. Ghost chair - £123.00 / 4. Stockholm dining table - £249.00 / 5. Capetown sofa - £625.00 / 6. Wassily armchair - £175.00 / 7. Eames-inspired Eiffel chair - £82.00
What are your favorite design classics? And how do you feel about pieces that are "inspired by” famous designs?
P.S. If you like those Eames molded plastic chairs, I wrote a whole post about them here.
Thanks to David Philips Furniture for partnering with me on this post.

I hope you all had a fun weekend (first official weekend of summer!). I got a little bit sick, so I didn’t have a whole lot of energy to do a bunch of summery things, even though the weather was super nice here. I did go for a really beautiful hike on Saturday, and on Sunday I went shopping and got stuff done around the house. My mom was here in Seattle too, so it was good to see her! As always, the weekend went by waaaayyy too fast…and here we are again, on another Monday. This week is starting on a good foot, though! I’m sharing a fun little DIY on Sugar & Cloth today. You can check out the tutorial and more photos here.
I saw some wooden animal hooks on Ferm Living a couple weeks ago, and thought they were pretty much the cutest things ever…so I decided to make some of my own! I made a seal, a panda, and a fox, but you can adapt this DIY for any animal you like. I was thinking I should have done a pig...I definitely have plenty of pink paint :)
This project is perfect for a kid’s room, a mud room, or the entryway of your home…and it’s really easy too.
Be sure to check out Sugar & Cloth today to find out how I made these!

If you’ve been reading this blog for awhile, you know I love fonts. And even more than that, I love anything free! What can I say, I’m a cheapskate. I’m always adding to my collection of free fonts, so today I thought I’d share some of my favorite new ones.
1. Matilde / 2. Croissant One / 3. Trocchi / 4. Bellota / 5. Josefin Slab / 6. Cocorrina / 7. Little days / 8. Bentham / 9. Salome / 10. English Essay
Hope you find new ones to enjoy! Have a great weekend, y’all.
P.S. You can see some of my previous font round-ups here, here, and here.

I have a project for you guys today that's so easy, it's almost silly to call it a DIY! I got the idea for this when I saw this quote on Pinterest: "Great things are done by a series of small things brought together." I love this quote--it's a great reminder that success doesn't happen overnight, and all the little things we do every day are adding up to something bigger. And since a tree is a perfect example of that (all the tree rings represent years and years of growth), I thought it would be really fitting to write this quote on a wood round. Ben's parents recently had to cut down a big tree from their front yard, the one that Ben grew up climbing in his childhood, so at first I was going to cut a slice from one of those tree branches so we could keep a piece of that tree in our home...but in the end I was too lazy to even do that. I ended up just buying a wood round at Hobby Lobby!
All you need for this project is:
1. A wood round. You could cut your own, as I originally planned to do, or buy one (they're about $7).
2. A pencil and eraser
3. A Sharpie
Boom. Easiest project ever, right? I bet you can already guess what the steps are, but I'll share them anyways.
Write out the saying lightly in pencil.
Once it looks good to you, write over it with Sharpie.
Give it a minute to make sure the Sharpie has fully dried, then erase any pencil marks that are still showing.
That's it! You can add a picture hanger on the back if you'd like to hang it on the wall, or just prop it up on a shelf like I did. Easy and affordable art!
You can apply these same steps to write any saying on a wood round--or even do a simple pattern or picture. But I do think this quote is especially fitting! Hope you like it.
P.S. Those belt strap shelves are also a DIY project! Check out the tutorial here, if you’re curious.
