I love design classics as much as the next girl, but I usually don't have the budget for the real thing (okay, I never have the budget for the real thing). So I’m perfectly fine with pieces that are inspired by the classics. If it looks close enough, it works for me! That’s why I was excited to find David Philips Furniture. They have affordable versions of so many of my faves! Here are just a few.
1. Eames-inspired lounger - £765.00 / 2. Eiffel DAW chair (in several fun colors!) - £119.00 / 3. Ghost chair - £123.00 / 4. Stockholm dining table - £249.00 / 5. Capetown sofa - £625.00 / 6. Wassily armchair - £175.00 / 7. Eames-inspired Eiffel chair - £82.00
What are your favorite design classics? And how do you feel about pieces that are "inspired by” famous designs?
P.S. If you like those Eames molded plastic chairs, I wrote a whole post about them here.
Thanks to David Philips Furniture for partnering with me on this post.
I am all for a look a like! I'm more for traditional classics, but my homes have all been full of DIY and thrift finds. Still is, will always be. :)
Good point! Most of the DIYs I've done have been inspired by something I saw for sale but couldn't afford.
Lately I've been obsessed with Ghost Chairs and furniture with clean lines. So I'm always glad to find items that are inspired by the classics, especially if they fit my design inspiration. Thanks so much for sharing!
I love Ghost Chairs too! I wrote a whole post on my love for lucite, if you'd like to check it out :)
