I used to subscribe to Real Simple, and I always loved their "New Uses for Old Things" column. Those are my favorite kind of DIYs--useful ideas that are simple and easy to implement, using common items that you might even have already. Here's an example from my house: store your earrings in a ceramic egg carton! It's cute, practical, and works perfectly. If you don't have a ceramic egg carton, they're really inexpensive--but an ice cube tray or a regular egg carton would also work.
I shared a bunch of other easy organization ideas on Bali Blinds last week. Check 'em out, and tell me: what are your favorite tips and tricks? I love learning new ones!
I also love to use items for display or storage that are lovely re purposed treasures. A pretty bowl to hold your keys, a plate to house your glasses, a basket containing all the es-sundries of your purses necessities.
Those are all lovely ideas! We keep change by the front door in a pretty teacup, too.
fantastic idea! love this!

Thanks Kelsey!
Love these as organizers! I have one full of beads and a few painted and waiting to add to my Etsy shop!
Yay! They're great for organizing all kinds of little things. I should get a couple more, for crafty supplies and whatnot!
Hi Aileen, FYI,the next post on your reading material won't let us comment. I've given away 3 copies of Marie Kondos book. I enjoyed her principles. It's a great motivator to simplify and a huge help in decluttering. (It also helps your budget as you "really" don't need that purchase :)!) I've helped many friends organize their homes or helped them move. It was a great help to them in these areas.
Thanks Debbie! Ugh, I don't know why that happens sometimes. Fixed it :)
And that's good to know! I know Renae got that book--I'm going to see if she'll let me borrow it after she's done.
Me and my mom do this! She'd hand me good condition egg trays and I'd paint them. I'd love to use a ceramic egg tray though, it'll be great for my pendants!
